In the elaboration of Vintage Port wines, we continue to maintain the centuries-old tradition of treading the grapes in the old stone presses, always selecting the best grapes from Old Vineyards.
The Vintages are bottled without filtration, after two years of aging in Portuguese oak wood. They are usually very dark in color, almost opaque, and have intense aromas of very ripe fruit. They are very complex and persistent wines, with a remarkable longevity.

VINIFICATION
The grapes, from Vinhas Velhas, were transported in food plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the cellar. After a gentle crushing without destemming, they were sent to a traditional winepress where they were trodden on by men at regular intervals. Subsequently, wine brandy was added to stop fermentation. Quinta do Crasto Vintage aged in oak barrels of 9000 liters, where it remained for approximately 2 years. It was bottled without any fining or filtration, being subject to a slight deposit during aging.
TEST RESULTS
Opaque in color, it has notes of spice on the nose and was very well integrated with the fresh aromas of wild fruits from the Douro. In the mouth, it presents a vigorous attack, evolving into a wine of great solidity and concentration, with a compact structure, where massive tannins dominate, but with an elegant texture, in perfect integration with retro nasal aromas of wild fruit. A captivating wine, which finishes vibrantly, very persistent and with extraordinary potential for aging in the bottle.
