This unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage, from a single harvest, was produced only with extremely high quality grapes from the Romaneira vineyards, having been vinified in the Quinta's presses using traditional treading.
CASTES
Touriga Nacional (40%), Touriga Francesa (30%), Tinta Roriz (20%) and Tinto Cão (10%).
VINIFICATION
The grapes were trodden and fermented in the Quinta's traditional mills, where disciplined and intense treading resulted in a good final result. The entire batch was aged in used chestnut and oak wooden barrels with port wine for a period of 60 months.
TEST RESULTS
The powerful primary fruits of this wine begin to evolve with age, making it a young and accessible LBV, ready to drink now, but capable of aging and developing for a few years. Ideally served as an accompaniment to cheese, desserts, or on its own at the end of a meal. This wine is unfiltered and will continue to develop in the bottle. As a result, a slight deposit may develop and decanting is recommended.
