Quinta dos Carvalhais Tinta Roriz is a varietal red wine of exceptional quality and strong personality, an example of the best that can be obtained from the variety when planted in Dão.
CASTES
100% Tinta Roriz.
SERVICE TEMPERATURE
16º - 18ºC.
VINIFICATION
The grapes of the Tinta Roriz variety destined to be part of this wine were harvested by plot, taking into account their degree of maturation, a rigorous qualitative selection being carried out at the time and having been vinified separately. The grapes were unloaded from 20 kg boxes directly into the stalk-crusher, falling by gravity into small stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation took place for about 8 days, at an average temperature of about 26ºC.
TEST RESULTS
Ruby colored wine, very young. Austere wine on the nose. It needs time. It needs to breathe to reveal the aromas of ripe black fruits, the notes of pine and pine needles and the hints of truffle and moss. There are also, subtly, the notes of barrel, where the wine spent 12 months. On the palate, it surprises with its acidity that brings freshness and the firm, but refined, tannin. It is a wine with a good volume in the mouth, which ends in a long and balanced finish.
