This was one of the few Vintage Ports declared in 1999, and in good time we did so, as this wine was a "mind opener" for the reality of Quinta do Poral as a producer of Vintage Ports.
CASTES
Traditional grape varieties from the Douro Demarcated Region, predominantly Tinta Roriz (60%) and Touriga Nacional (40%).
SERVICE TEMPERATURE
17º - 18ºC.
VINIFICATION
Manual harvest and then transported in small boxes (max 25Kg). Maceration at approx. from 28-31°C. Aging for one year in cask, and bottling in the second year.
TEST RESULTS
Color with good concentration, deep. The evolution in the bottle predominates in the tertiary aromas of this Vintage, very complex but still fresh. It presents a behaved black fruit, fig and cinnamon! Very harmonious in the mouth, elegant in the first contact and explosive in the end. A Port that continues to evolve, not forgetting its main characteristics: Fruity (now in the compoted version) and elegance!
