On the 24th of April 1955, at the invitation of the Board of Directors of the Grémio da Lavoura de Borba, a group of winegrowers got together with the intention of founding Adega de Borba. On the 30th of April 1955, the first Board of Adega Cooperativa de Borba took office in Borba.
MoreFounded in 1955, Adega de Borba was the first of a series of wineries set up in the Alentejo, with the encouragement of the then National Wine Board, at a time when the sector did not have the leading role it has today in the regional economy.
